Hi everyone,

I was on YouTube and found a lot of tutorials on sugar waxing. I came across a video from a waxing studio/salon in Germany called Senzera. Senzera uses this sugar paste that is spread onto skin with a gloved hand and hair is easily removed by pulling up. For the life of me, I cannot find anything similar on the U.S. market. Does anyone use a professional sugaring product in their spa? If so, was additional training required to purchase and use it on your clients? Thanks:-)

I haven't seen any actual professional sugaring products, probably because you can easily make it yourself...any ones at stores I have ever seen have had the same ingredients you can use to make it yourself...2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice (or other acid) 1/4 cup water.  It is very effective and has been done successfully since Ancient Egyptian times. Best of all, you can remove any residue easily with warm water.

Anyway, I would just make it myself since anything you would buy at the store or from a distributor would be just as effective but would cost you a lot more.

I actually just did a blog post talking about sugaring last night! http://www.holisticallyhaute.com/2011/06/too-sensitive-to-wax.html.

By the way I love the name of your spa! Very nice website too...I "liked" you on FB.

Thanks Andrea!

Thanks so much for this information. I will try this recipe. I found a few videos on YouTube as well. I also found a company that provides sugaring certification. I went to Alexandria Professional, at www.alexandriaprofessional.com. The company provided some great information about their product and a possible location near me for training.

No problem. Good luck!
