I have had some serious personal stressors in my life since March and like most women I chose NOT to deal with ANY of them...rather I dove into work, dove into my social life, dove into junk food, dove into ANYTHING that wasn;t healthy, wasn't soulful, wasn't therapeutic, was in EVERY way not good for me...

Well, it has taken a toll in MANY ways...I have had to notify my clients that I am taking the entire month of Aug off...I have gotten myself very sick...I am also dealing with a wicked muscle, nerve or possible vertebrae problem (seeing 2 chiro's, 1 doc, PT and have an MRI scheduled for this Fri)

PLEASE remember that we MUST nurture ourselves!!!!!!! People come to us for the very things that we might be going through ourselves...we have to take care of ourselves...we have to address relationship issues, work issues, health issues, fears, anxieties, children, economic, etc...the stress we warn our clients about is REAL and can hurt, damage and derail us...

Vent here, reach out here and perhaps there are local practitioners to see and receive nurturing...

I have BIg plans for when I am well again...yoga, aquatic exercising, walking, perhaps even using an exercise ball rather than a chair in my treatment room...

We are valued by our clients and families...we need to value ourselves MORE :)

Namaste and rock-n-roll!!!

Well at least you are getting back on the right track! That is surely a positive in my book. We are human, not super human. But you are right, that we do need to take care of ourselves too. I hope that you feel better very soon.

Keep your head up and get better!!!  Another Esthetician told me this same thing...we need to be papmered too.  I find it hard to find the right person to do that...where I am actually going to let go and relax and not feel like I am critiquing every little thing they are doing.

Thank you for sharing and reminding us that we need to take better care of ourselves too!! Be well!! :)

Get better soon, Annie!

I hope you're back to your normal self soon, Ann!

And speaking of stress--don't forget how bad it is for your skin, too! I saw this interesting article the other day: http://www.beautyconnexion.com/index.cfm/blog/100476/stress-can-wre...

Very true Abram!!

After a VERY long recovery and journey to wellness I am happy to announce I am returning to work on Oct 17th :) I am going back s.l.o.w.l.y. Just 2 clients, 1 day a week for the first week, then 2 days a week for about a month...I am still in PT and will be starting OT (ended up being diagnosed with a few things...herniated C5 C6 disk, brachial plexitis from a viral component due to compromised immune system). The brachial plexitis is an inflammation of the brachial plexus muscle group - muscle around & behind shoulder and down the arm to the elbow.

Anyway, I am so looking forward to getting back to doing what I love, in a healthy way :)

Everyone, be good to yourselves <3

So good to see an update! Take it easy at first. Congratulations on getting back into things.

thank you Carrie :)

Glad to hear you're getting better!

thank you Abram!
