Get The Tan Free Skin With These 5 Easy Steps

Dull skin may be far from being a skin condition that seriously suffers your appearance.  Nevertheless, women and men are bothered about it.  That could be because dull skin spreads to large areas of the skin which makes people far less attractive than they really are.

Several solutions are available to improve dull skin conditions.  Unfortunately, one easy solution that unsuspecting people often take is getting a suntan.  It’s a quick fix and cheap but, you’re paying for a temporary golden brown skin tone at the expense of your health and that’s far from becoming a treatment for dull complexion.

How did you get that tan?

Sun tanned skin is not beautiful.  In fact, sun tan in the aftermath of an attempt by your skin to rescue itself from damage.  In detail, here’s what happened:

1.  Your skin has been exposed simultaneously to deep penetrating UVA and skin surface burning UVB.

2.  As soon as your skin detected that it’s been taking in too much UV, it prompted your skin cells (your melanocytes to be exact) to produce melanin at significantly higher levels.  More pigment means higher tolerance for UV, right?

3.  UVB burned your skin, giving you a nasty tan, while UVA’s effect isn’t instantly apparent.  Normally, it damages cells buried deep in your skin. After several years, the damage may show up as signs of skin aging, including wrinkles and age spots.

4.  In the process, your skin cells also sent pools of your blood to the rescue, causing your skin to redden for the first few hours up to 48 hours after you’ve fried your skin.

5.  An immediate after effect is that white blood cells also flock to the area to remove sunburned skin by peeling.  This is what causes your sunburn to itch and flake.

Sunburn remedies.

Keep this in mind for life: no amount of sun damage can be undone.  The damage is there, lurking underneath your skin.  Nevertheless, below are quick fixes to improve the appearance of sunburned skin:

1.  Get a product containing natural aloe vera or, get ana loe vera sap if you have access to one.  Aloe vera has been studied and proven many times to have instantaneous positive impact on damaged skin, including burned skin.  It should be powerful enough to treat your tanned skin.

2.  Apply a cold cream.  It’s the most common treatment for dull complexion.  Simply get hold of a cold cream and apply generously on your skin as soon as you detect a sun tan.  It serves as a cooling agent to help ease the sunburn which is becoming more and more painful to the touch as the damage first becomes apparent.  If the pain becomes unbearable, take an aspirin.

3.  Cleanse affected areas with a cleanser containing mild concentration of alpha hydroxy acids (AHA).  This will help speed up skin peeling and turnover, and therefore cut short the natural time it takes for sunburn to heal.  Be careful when using AHAs on sunburned skin.  AHAs that are too harsh can be counterproductive in treating your sun tan.

4.  Apply quick absorbing plant oils such as virgin coconut oil and avocado oil.  These are so gentle, that you shouldn’t expect your inflamed skin to become irritated.  These plant oils are able to deeply penetrate your skin and provide loads of Vitamin A, Vitamin E and lipids that your skin needs to quickly rebuild and restructure your damaged skin.

5.  Soak in a cold tub.  This will relieve the burning sensation from your sunburn.  Replenish the lost moisture by soaking your skin in a mixture of milk and honey.  Milk will help speed up skin peeling, thanks to its lactic acid content, a natural skin exfoliators.  Honey, on the other hand, is one of the most powerful humectants nature has to offer.  Combine these two and you get yourself a powerhouse remedy to get rid of your sunburn quickly.
