WELCOME!!! There are so many options out there and so much to learn and do!!!  The most important part of and Esthetician is her marketing skills! LOL Do you have a brochure about YOU?  What's your resume look like?  I wish I had known some things about marketing, waxing, and ingredients! Ugh! Here are my recommendations:

Get a marketing plan together on what you can offer

Take a training/class/gain experience every month.

Start with a daily working plan (Sending out emails, resumes, etc)

KNOW what you're worth and DO NOT take discounts.

Go out everyday and introduce yourself at spas, waxing centers, and other places.

IF it is at all POSSIBLE I wish I would have gone out on my own straight from the beginning.

Congratulations! Welcome to the industry. Get all the advanced education you can, it will give you confidence in what you are doing which will help you build up your clientele a lot faster. I am a huge fan of the International Dermal Institute. I have become a fabulous esthetician because of the ed that I get there. Also, find something that no one in your area offers, I specialize in Microcurrent. Great results, no else that I know offers it and it sells itself. The results are amazing.

Congratulations!

When I first started out, I didnt have any equipment and finding a job was tough. A month after I got my license I started taking classes. I took brow n brazilian waxing class. Then I took a IDI class (International Dermal Institute).

I started adding all this to my resume including before and after photo's of all the family and friends i worked on at home (or their homes...always took my wax with me to family get togethers =) ).

continued education and handing out my business cards (always have business cards) everywhere helped me build a good client base.

Hope that helped =)
