working for a physician...commission structure on retail

So Hi everyone,

I am working for a plastics surgeon and the current situation on my compensation for selling retail is this:  I make 15% off the NET..meaning if Dr. purchases a product at wholesale for $50, sells it for $100....I am making 15% off the $50 he NET (ed).  I always thought it was off the GROSS (ie. 15% off $100).  I am just asking around and trying to get the industry standard (if there really is such a thing!)  Thanks in advance for anyone's feedback!

I sell Nerium's anti aging products. I receive 40% from my loyal monthly customers. And Nerium gives me free inventory so I sell that and 100% is my profit.

Thank you Susan!  You are confirming what I thought.  My issue is now explaining that to the Office Manager.  I am  even better off with 10% commission off retail rather than 15% off wholesale.

Thanks again!
