I have been in the business for 6 years and am finally going out on my own.  So far my biggest problem is naming the company.

I am all about the health of the skin and my clients state of min, lets face it, sometimes we are like the bartender we hear everything about their lives.  I am PCA Certified, and Oncology Certified.  My rooms have always been warm and cozy - warm sage color, with paintings of lavender fields with poppies; and other lavender paintings.

I need help, I will be going on my own 12/1/14

Thank you,

Gail Wagner

Name your shop something simple, but something that will STICK. Good Luck!

My brain is STUCK!  Simply Facials & More by Gail Wagner!  How about that???????

Congrats! I am solo also, I transformed an executive suite in a professional building into my own little oasis and wish I would have used the word "studio" in my name.

My advice is think about the clientele you are trying to attract, your services and atmosphere then try to think of synonyms that will incorporate it all together that will send a message to potential clients.

Good Luck!

I just signed the Lease in a professional building today, so I too will have my own little oasis, beginning 12/1!!!!!!!!  Still no name is coming to me.  So you think I should add "studio" in the name?  I want my name in the title, people know my name.  It is so hard, I NEVER wanted to own my own place, so I never came up with a name.  Now it's here, so it better come to me soon.

Thank you for your input.  If anything comes to mind, please let me know.

Gail

Sorry for the late response, no I am not suggesting you add studio to your name (I just wish I had)

Good Luck!

How about... Lets face it!

Hi Gail, I love doing this kind of stuff - it is challenging and creative! The first thing I did before opening my business is look to see if anyone else was using it for my line of work, that way I wouldn't have to face legal issues in the future on trademark infringement. I looked it up in the USPTO electronic search and since it wasn't used for my category, I trademarked as soon as possible. I filed with the county then state, and was first in commerce. If the name you're choosing is a generic name and you know that it's something that you're using in local commerce, check with an IP lawyer to see if it's okay to use. It's always good to cover your butt in this arena. There are so many businesses with catchy names who don't trademark or protect the brand, but it's because expansion and protection aren't in the plan.

In finding the name, write your favorite things on a piece of paper then bust open a thesaurus. I'll message you some ideas, and you can go from there. I think you're more than just "Skincare by Gail" though.
