I am in the process of getting my own room and maybe starting to spray tan.  The room I am looking at is pretty small but I think this service would be popular.  For those of you that do tanning how much room do you need?  Do you use a tent in your esti room?  I would like as much info as possible.

Thanks for the pics! I really like your room! Mine is going to be a lot smaller but it is in a day spa/salon in a pretty busy area and the rent is a great deal. I am going to be using skin scripts and i am looking for a body line to use for back facials. What product lineon do youyou use? I am ordering a lot of my stuff online and starting small. I am debating if i should get a microderm machine or not. What services do you offer?

Thanks Ladies!  I am glad that I can help.  You are both going to do awesome!  Definitely keep us posted on everything.  I am hearing so much about Skin Scripts, I am going to have to check it out.  I am using Glotherapeutics, I absolutely love the products but the shipping is killing me and the CS is kinda EHHH, so I have been contemplating introducing another line and slowly moving towards it.  I may also look into Image because their education is awesome.  Does Skin Script have education classes?  I pretty much ordered everything online and searched until I found the best deal.  I did purchase a diamond micro that works well and isn't too expensive, it's from Sylvan.  I stupidly though got the mac daddy one with all the bells and whistles and to be honest, you just need the micro unless you are going to use the skin scrubber, hot cold hammer, microcurrent, etc, but I honestly don't.  Kind of like my 11-1 machine I bought, really all I needed was a light, steamer and high frequency.  Lessons learned for sure :). My micro has the led on it as well, but I would recommend buying their hand held LED if you are going to offer those types of services, you will use it more often and probably be able to incorporate it into any service.  I don't keep my micro on my cart so I have to move it over and plug everything in, kind of a pain.  I offer customized facials, back facials, acne facial, micro with facial, advanced peels (TCA/Jessner), then add on services of enzymes, light peels, led, etc, spray tans and waxing.  I have mostly been doing facials and a few micros, waxing just facial (I think I prefer this until I have more experience waxing or education), and few spray tans so far but again, just opened at the end of Feb so still pretty new and trying to get established.  Let me know what you decide :).  Hope both of you ladies have a great day!

Shelia, I as well use Glo therapeutics and LOVE IT, so do my clients. The active ingredients are amazing! I wouldn't switch to another line.  I'm in Milwaukee, WI and have a wonderful sales Rep. Where are you located?

How long have you been using the line? I am in Florida, how is the shipping for you?  Seems like every order for mine is $20 at least whether I order one thing or not.  Also the $5 handling fee if the order is under $250 kills me.  I do love their products, just did a Jessner this last week and the results are great, just hate the shipping charges.  What products of the line do you carry and what do you retail?

I've been using the line for 4 years, shipping is about $13-15 per order. I feel that would be the average for any other line as well,  but I hear what you'r saying.  I carry all cleansers, moisturizers, tonics. Acne line which is AWESOME!! Eye cream, mask, polish, serums... I guess really all of it. I special order most of the Vit. C serums or anything more costly. LOVE, LOVE the new Cyto luxe line!

Will your spray tan unit, Do you get a lot of overspray in your room. That is my biggest fear, I'm in a brand new room and not sure the owner will go for this idea.

Oh wow, ok well I will give it time.  Everyone does love it, I have only been using since Jan on myself and end of Feb in my treatment room.  I love the antiblemish spot treatment and I actually just ordered the cytoluxe eye for myself and I am not sure if it's that specifically but the lines under my eyes are getting much better, maybe combo of peel and that, bc I did go a little closer than you should :).

Well because I have the tent, any overspray goes right into the tent, but if you barely have nosel open, you really don't have much overspray.  I am not spray tanning all day long or anything so I don't notice any smell or anything but you can get some type of fan or something.  I put a towel down and theres usually not very much on there and then I just wipe the inside of the tent down after every time.  I also have the client further back in the tent so I am never spraying outside my tent.  I am sure too if you decide to do it, talk to whoever you buy from and ask how to handle overspray or if there is ever issues with it.

Thanks for the info on the micro machine.  I am wondering with the spray tanning is it messy?  I brought it up to the owner and she was worried about the mess and I have read that some get a fan because of the overspray.  I have been using skincripts on myself for about a year and love them.  They do have free trainings and also webinars if you can't get to the trainings, they have great customer service and shipping is always $5.00 I pick my orders up because they are here local in Az and they are always nice and helpful when I go into the office.  You can even order and have them ship to your client!  I can also set up spending less because they have sample sets so I am going to get a couple and see what I use the most.

Thanks Summer, I just got info from Skin Scripts and although I do have the glo, I am still going to probably order some to test on myself and see because I am seeing a lot about it.  I still have a ton of backbar and retail for my glo so I will continue to use that but am open to other lines as well.  When they ship to the client, do they send an invoice though so the client sees how much you paid vs what they pay? Check out above what I said about the mess too.

Like I said too, before you start doing it on a regular basis, find someone that you can practice with.  If you go with the place that I went and speak with Michael you can always get some really great info from him and maybe even as him for samples to try.  You do get a discount from the prices online.  I think the large gallon of solution is around 100.  You can ask him too which ones that I have, I beleive it's the Photoshoot snap shot (I like the light and the medium color).  One thing I like about this stuff is everyone you spray looks different, it reacts nicely with your melanin so I can spray two people with the same color and they look totally different.  I also just asked for samples of the organic and a new speedy tan they have.  I LOVE the new color systems, I am so sad they didn't have these when I ordered.  LOL

The starter kit is really nice,I would do this one if you are looking for a kit, but I will say that I do not like nor do I use their after care products.  A trick he told me is that when you see people that are orange, it's because they use the tan extender right away.  He said use just regular moisturizer for 3-4 day s then use the tan extender after that, but I never use anything.  You don't need their barrier cream either and to be honest thats just do you dont overspray hands, feet and dry areas.  Once you get the hang of spraying, you won't even need the barrier cream so regular lotion works too.

Their tanning products are all scented with lemon  grass, so theyu don't smell as bad, but you do get a little stinky after sitting in it for 6 hours or sleeping in it.

Really all you need is the spray gun, tent, solution, exfoliating gloves and or the exfoliating spray (gloves less expensive cost), and some type of lotion at first.  I don't use any of the boosters or anything like that and I also don't have the disposable spa panties or anything, just say wear an old pair of underware or swim suit or nothing.  It's all water soluable so it washes out of anything.

Have a great day ladies!!  Sorry to go on  and on.  It's the coffee.  haha

Sorry ladies, just saw this

not sure how the sprayer compares to the brown one but this is a great cost for start up...the bottles are 8 oz and that will give you at least 3 tans (you will use a little more solution to start).  Not sure what solutions it comes with but I would ask for a sample of light or medium snap shot, organic, and new speedy tan.  I have not tried the organic or speedy yet but will let you know when I do this week.

Ask if they will give you a deal on the tent if you decide to go with them.  I bought the big kit because I split it with a friend, but wish I would have looked more into it, bc it really was too much.  Oh and the tan in a can are awesome, although I don't retail because I am not busy enough, they are great for touch ups and the color is nice too.

great info ladies...Shiela your room is beautiful..I'm looking for a different tanning solutio,n going to get some samples from the place you mentioned!! :) I just got some skinscript samples in the mail...havn't tried them all yet but the prof products smell so nice I'm just not crazy about the retail products but I'm going to give it a chance tho

No problem and thank you so much for the compliment!

If you ladies try it please let me know how you like it.  I talked to Michael yesterday to find out some more info too for you ladies.  The difference in the brown sprayer and the black is the brown is all plastic, black is all metal parts and weighs about 2 lbs more.  I have the brown one, I like it.  Also, the Organic solution will take a bit longer to dry and since its all natural they use caramel for the stain rather than the bronzers so it may feel a bit stickier. They ship everything UPS from St Petersburg, Fl....solution would probably run not more than $10 for shipping but with the system, maybe $15...for the most part.  I am going to try either the organic or the speedy tan this weekend so I will let you know how those look.  :)

Thanks for all the help and info! I was at skinscripts today and asked about the invoice when they ship to the customer and they said they do not include an invoice you just put in the notes it is a drop ship, this is how i will be doing my retail since i am short in space.
