I have a question about Mandelic acid. I have a client (21y/o) that has a few break outs and blackheads on her cheeks. She was using SA but after a while it became too drying to rest of her skin and her upper lip started to peel. She is taking BC to control hormone issues (maybe PCOS). Would she be a candidate for a 4% mandelic wash? Would it exfoliate but not be too drying? She is the daughter of a friend and she’s also a long distance client. Thanks in advance.

Did you try reducing frequency of the SA wash before switching acids?  What kind of climate is she living in, and what do you have her on in terms of humectants/moisturizers?
