I have tried getting an answer to the question: Can you/should you wax a man's beard area? Most "authorities" say NO, NEVER. Their reasons seem to be the hair is coarse and dense in that area and it's very painful. Others wax that area all the time and don't see a problem with it.  What do you all think?

I don't know why you would wax a man's beard.

The hair is extremely dense and besides the pain, you are causing a heck of a lot of trauma to the skin.

Not a good idea IMO.

Guys should shave or clipper. Treat ingrowns with proper homecare.

No we don't wax the facial hair on a male.  The hair is different to a females facial hair and pubic hair.   The follicles are different and like Cindy said...too much trauma to the skin/painful and will probably result in lots and lots of bumps and ingrowns.

Good to know.  Not that I thought of doing it but I agree with Cindy and Claire.

Thanks, I just wanted to get some more educated opinions. I had a feeling if a guy wanted that, he'd soon regret it.
