Hey ladies, anyone out there that does only waxing. I have been in the field for 13yrs now and and 85/90% is waxing.  I still love doing facials, etc but it is not where my money is. I am having a hard time letting go even though this is what I want to do. Some clients I have had for 8years but they never bring me any new clients.

Do you feel waxing only salons are profitable?  Thanks everyone.. Your all awesome..

Jackie why do you have to let go of your facial clients? Why not do both?

Stephanie

hi Stephanie, I don't have to let go. I don't make much money from it. I make more money waxing but I am attached to my facial clients like friends. It's hard for me to let them go for that reason. I've been doing this for 13years and feel like I need a change. I know there are waxing only salons out there.  Just having a hard time doing it.

Yes, waxing only salons can be profitable!  Easier, more money for you and clients WANT to come to someone that knows what the heck's going on.  Find a mentor, go to the message boards, partner up with a good wax company that provides excellent support, and let the wax fly!!  Have fun and good luck!
I don't have a waxing salon, but I did meet the owner of a successful chain of waxing salons in my area. These salons are waxing only, they train you in their technique and they have 3 locations within 20 miles of where I work and at least 3 in other areas with more to come. I am curious, why do you have to let go of your facial clients? As long as you have the space and time available, why not keep doing facials with your long term clients and all others be just waxing clients?
The majority of my business is waxing. I specialize in the Brazilian. I have also been giving facials for 13 years. I have a handful of facial clients. It seems like someone always wants me to fix their problems, they don't want to go to a derm for the answer, they expect me to have it. I don't diagnose skin disorders and I tell them that upfront. I am just kinda tired of the hassle. Plus I have a few clients that don't even buy the home care from me. They buy on line. I know that is their choice but it really upsets me. To the point that I just want to get away from it. I am still weighing the pros and cons.
Go with a skincare line they cannot buy online.
Image skin care is one of them. Great line.
would love to know if you compared the Image like with Osmosis...I'm looking at both and I am not completely against light peels and Osmosis is focused on rebuilding the dermis.  I do see it available on-line everywhere, even though they are licensed estheticians.  What do you like about Image? Thanks

There are a lot of people who only wax and have created a "persona"- The Waxing Queen, The Waxing Diva...

Do some googling.

Specialization is great!! Get the word out that you give the BEST brazilian and you'll be famous!! :-)

Follow your heart- and your passion- and success will follow you.

Absolutely, woman will always get waxed and their nails done.
Waxing will make you more money than just facials. Facials are still considered  a luxury. Waxing is necessity.
Thanks Marylin, I guess I didn't look at it that way. Facials are a luxury. Your so right. What skincare line do you use?
I think it would be a good idea, but might be hard to start up at first...much like any other business! but i've noticed i'm getting a lot more waxes rather than facials or eyelashes, but you have to think about it, this is summer, and summer tends to be more popular for waxing. i think it might be a hit or miss honestly?
