Hi, I'm setting up a treatment room and am wondering which diamond microdermabrasion machines are the best, and at the best value. I'm only looking to spend around $1000 maximum. Thanks!

We do steam before microdermabrasion and vary time and intensity by the skin type.  We don't want to create too much stimulation to the surface if the skin seems ultra sensitive but a bit of steam seem to prepare and soften the skin for the micro.  It is also nice when combining an enzyme peel or any peel that uses the moisture from the steam for activation.

Ladies, is there anybody who use steam before microdermabrasion? I just received Skin Script protocol. It was recommending enzyme with steam and then microdermabrasion. I wonder anybody who does that?

Kathleen,  There is a very effective way to manually perform microdermabrsion which produces terrific results on first use.  Obviously, there is no machine required.  The product used is Nutrifoliant Exfoliating Nutrient Powder with microdermabrasion crystals from Nutrient Skincare.  Nutrifoliant is mixed with a facial cleanser at the point of use then massaged into the skin.  Exfoliates, cleanses and nourishes in just one step.  Truly amazing results.  Samples are available if you would like to receive one.  Let me know.

Has anybody tried any of the Microdermabrasion machines shown on this website? They're having a class at the Face and Body Show in Oct so I would like some feedback from Esties who have tried them out. http://www.clearfxskin.com/

Hi ladies.. In 1998 I was one of the owners at Diamond Systems when microdermabrasion was first introduced and actually wrote the earliest protocols that looked at microdermabrasion as skin care.. not a skin procedure.  This was the beginning of "non-invasive" treatments.   The earlier clinicals noted the fact that microdermabrasion offered the opportunity to perform repetitive treatments... the idea of a series... so skin would have the chance to renew and rejuvenate over a course of treatments.  These clinical studies also noted the suction.. vacuum.. as a great component to the substantial collagen build up in the dermis and the ability to have a powerful cleansing action below skin surface.. essential for acne care.  So controlled suction is a big part of what makes microdermabrasion different.  Surface micros.. including the Diamond Tip... can not give that below surface action with out being overly aggressive to the surface.. but they can be a great add for refining the skin surface.. especially as a preliminary to other treatments.

Has anyone ever purchased equipment from Spa Manufacturer Direct in California?  If so, did you have good support from the company?  Would appreciate any feedback.  Thanks!

I would be happy to speak with anyone regarding microderm, both crystal and crystaless.  I can guide you on the right machines, and the advantages and disadvantages of both.  I have trained over 300 offices on microderm, and am a aesthetician from Florida, now living in Denver.  My wife and I own a wellness center and spa, and are now opening up a second center as well.

Please email me with a phone if you are interested in discussing this or LED Light, microcurrent or teeth whitening.
