One of my clients goes to an accupuncturist who does microcurrent facials using a microcurrent machine that uses Q-tips to deliver product and current.  The accupuncturist told her that using metal wands to deliver current is too harsh on the skin because the metal gives off ions.  It has always been my understanding that the Qtips were used for ease of sanitation.  Is anyone aware of the concerns stated by the accupuncturist?

I can't imagine the metal wands give off too many ions as to make the treatment harmful in any way. And I go to my acupuncturist for acupuncture. I reall y wouldn't trust them with my face. They know about energy and meridians and chi etc. but are they well versed in products and Skincare ingredients etc.? Not usually. I just don't understand why people chose accup or chiropractors to get microcurrent treatments.
