Mary Lou Coleman replied to Jodi Braun's discussion Vegan diet and Acne in the group Acne Specialists
"Jodi, I totally believe there is an internal component to this.  Much as I admire the motivation to be a vegan, it's hard to have healthy skin when you are one.  The first thought that comes to my mind is that she is essential fatty…"

"Wow, Abigail...thank you so much.  When you say "joint events worked well for you" (past tense) are you no longer treating acne?  Or are you just so busy, you don't need to do events anymore?  :)  I'd love to…"

"Hi Mary Lou!   Joint events worked very well for me.   For your 20 somethings: They may not be too excited to come to an acne seminar.  But I'm sure a lot of them will be excited to come to a free event where you offer…"

Mary Lou Coleman replied to Mary Lou Coleman's discussion Post-treatment break-outs in the group Acne Specialists
"Thanks, ladies.  You've given me lots to think about.  I have sometimes wondered if these "break-outs" aren't really break-outs at all, but more irritation.  In the case of this young girl, although the treatment I…"

"It could be several things, one of which you already mentioned. If her skin was under oxygenated with sluggish circulation then it is going thru a sort of "shock" period. The oils have to be rebalance if there was over stimulation as well.…"

Laura Cooksey replied to Mary Lou Coleman's discussion Post-treatment break-outs in the group Acne Specialists
"I will just talk from personal experience.  There are times when I don't get the entire lesion out; but I've irritated the pore, so it will come to a head.  One way of alleviating some of that is to put benzoyl peroxide on them…"

Post-treatment break-outs

Not everyone who comes to see me is enrolled in my acne management program.  New clients sometimes say "I just want an acne facial" (which usually opens the door to discussing my program, fortunately.)  Occasionally, however, I hear when I follow up a couple of days later that the treatment made them "break out" even more. Does anyone know the physiology of what's going on when this happens?  I am not using Vitamin A-containing products, and the treatment is relatively gentle: cleanse, very…See More

marketing our amazing programs...

People, how are you advertising and marketing the fabulous results you are getting for your acne clients????I have been a Face Reality professional for over a year, and the results speak for themselves.  With a compliant client, the success rate is pretty phenomenal.  But I am surprised by how relatively few people, whether moms seeking out my services for their teens, or 20- somethings for themselves, contact me.  I stay plenty busy with aging management.  What gives? In the interest of full…See More
