Comment by Yolanda Zdancewicz on March 16, 2012 at 8:15am Glad to have found this site. I was looking at the Hydrafacial machine myself and the information on this forum is truly valuable. Has anyone heard of the Beautiful Image facial and body sculpting device?
Comment by La Tricia Goncalves on February 5, 2012 at 10:05pm I own the HydraFacial Nectre & I feel confident their are plenty of other owners who have developed their OWN highly effective solutions & serums as a response to the high cost of purchasing it's specific solutions/serums. My hope is that some of these "forward-thinkers" could share their formulations with me. I look forward to the flood of responses!!! (BTW...I purchased my machine from it's original owner & was no longer under warranty, so I am aware that if it was, it would void that warranty.)
Comment by Tiffany Hendren on February 2, 2012 at 5:42pm @Juliette: Sorry, but I don't know any good sites for used equipment. However, you can always call whatever company makes the equipment that you are interested and ask if they have used equipment (generally from demos or returns/upgrades).
@Lise: I put this equipment purchase on hold for now, but I'm glad to hear that you really liked it. :-)
Comment by Lise Kinerson on February 1, 2012 at 4:39pm Hi Tiffany! I briefly worked at a spa that had the HydraFacial machine, I did several facials with it and also received the facial a few times. It is fantastic and the results I found were great. If you purchase the machine just be sure to have the Rep for it train everyone as the video/dvd is a little different in the procedures shown. It is easy and actually fun and the products that go with it are great!

Comment by Tiffany Hendren on December 1, 2011 at 1:39pm Thanks for all of the valuable advice, everyone!! I had the sales rep do a couple demo's at my spa, and after seeing the results and talking with my models about their impressions, I completely agree with Shelley -- the results are nice, but I want more than just nice for that kind of an investment.
Hi Tiffany!
I used to own a HydraFacial Machine Tower. It really all boils down to ...
1. Can you charge enough per treatment, and have enough clients per month to cover your monthly payments for the machine?
For example, if you have to pay $500/month for the machine, you have to charge enough per treatment, and have enough clients to at least cover that cost.
Don't forget, the cost of the serums, the cost of the esthetician doing the treatment, etc.
2. What's your client type? Are they willing to pay $150-$200/treatment? Which is what the manufacturers suggest you charge.
Are they willing to do this six times every two weeks? Which is what the manufacturers also suggest.
That adds up to $900 bucks ! The cost is equivalent to a laser or injectable treatment which frankly offers way more dramatic results than the Hydrafacial.
3. Do your clients want it, are they asking you for it? Or are you still going to have to market it heavily?
4. What are you looking to improve in your client that's making you think of purchasing the Hydrafacial? What kind of need are you trying to fill in your client? Could there be another machine or procedure that achieves the same result?
In my experience (and I know because I've been swayed this way before). I get carried away by what the sales guy says "Carry this machine and you'll make more money! They will love this machine and they will line up for treatments"!"
The truth is, it's all about your client. Your client has a problem, you're there to help them solve it. And you use the tools you have to solve their problem. They trust you, and they will go for the treatment you suggest.
What made you think about the Hyrdafacial as a tool? :)
Hope this helps!
Abby :)
